They threatened rain and the faint hearted stayed at home. Those of us that braved the journey to Michael Eavis' three-day city were rewarded with near-glorious weather and yet another year of unexpected musical treats.

Basement Jaxx closed the festival with a stunning display of lurid carnival colour and an energy to match the hedonistic extremes of Rio.
