Glastonbury festival organiser Michael Eavis spoke to dotmusic this afternoon and pronounced this year's festival the best ever. His claim - an annual pronouncement - was followed by even more premature statements, as Eavis speculated about next year's headliners, with The Rolling Stones mentioned in hush tones. Back to 2000 though and the man behind every Glastonbury festival revealed how he had endured sleepless nights and 'cups of tea at 3am' before this year's event, as it drew ever closer. But his fears have been allayed with all 100,000 tickets now sold-out though. Even so, Mr Glastonbury admitted he didn't exactly enjoy the festival. 'Enjoy is probably the wrong word', he explained. 'I get a great sense of satisfaction from it succeeding and then when it's all over I go for long walks and say haven't I done well..…Now I'm preoccupied with entertaining people and it's quite intensive. I get whiffs of enjoyment'. While discussing the possibility of The Rolling Stones playing in 2001, Eavis admitted that Glastonbury would never match the figures such bands command. He explained that this festival was about 'discovering the next Oasis or Robbie Williams.'
